Construction Estimator/Quoter

Location: Remote - Colombia

Richmark Remodeling is a growing residential remodeling and construction company serving The Woodlands and the greater Houston area. We specialize in high-end renovations and are committed to clear communication, careful planning, respect for our clients' homes, and lasting quality. Our services include kitchens, bathrooms, additions, exterior renovations, outdoor living spaces, remediation, and design.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Estimator/Quoter to take ownership of the estimating and costing process for our residential remodeling projects. You will turn plans, measurements, specifications, material requirements, subcontractor pricing, and scopes of work into accurate, profitable estimates and professional customer proposals. 

This is not a data-entry position; the successful candidate will understand residential construction and help protect project profitability from estimating through completion. This position works extensively in JobTread. Direct JobTread experience is strongly preferred, although candidates with strong experience using comparable construction management or estimating software may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for residential remodeling and construction projects
• Review plans, measurements, scopes, specifications, and project documentation
• Calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Obtain and compare pricing from subcontractors and vendors
• Build professional customer proposals and quotes in JobTread
• Create and maintain cost codes, assemblies, estimate templates, line items, and pricing
• Develop and update project budgets
• Track committed and actual costs against estimates
• Review job costing and identify potential budget problems early
• Prepare and process customer change orders
• Price change orders for labor, materials, subcontractors, overhead, and profit
• Update budgets when project scope or costs change
• Review purchase orders, bills, vendor pricing, and subcontractor expenses for accuracy
• Work closely with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to keep project financial information current
• Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to obtain pricing and clarify scopes
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
• Monitor project profitability throughout the project lifecycle
• Continuously improve estimating templates, pricing information, and internal processes
• Maintain accurate and organized project documentation in JobTread

Qualifications

• Previous construction estimating experience
• Experience with residential remodeling or construction strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of construction materials, labor, sequencing, and subcontractor pricing
• Experience preparing detailed estimates, proposals, budgets, and change orders
• Job-costing experience
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies
• Ability to read plans, scopes of work, specifications, and construction documents
• Experience using construction management or estimating software
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and active projects simultaneously
• Professional written and verbal English proficiency sufficient to communicate with U.S.-based team members, vendors, and subcontractors 
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable computer, internet connection, and professional remote workspace

Preferred qualifications include:

• Proficiency with JobTread
• Experience estimating high-end residential renovations
• Experience with Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore, Buildern, or comparable software
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Experience managing subcontractor bids and vendor pricing
• English-Spanish bilingual communication skills
